Our Story

We are a church that was formed out of a God-given desire to share a Christ-centered life with others in the community. Eight years ago God lead Pastor Lee Reams and his young family to Winchester Virginia to serve as a Creative Arts pastor at Grace Community Church (GCC). The Reams family chose to live in a beautiful lake community 12 miles north of Winchester named Lake Holiday. Lake Holiday consists of 2,800 acres of wooded land a contains a 240-acre lake. There are 900 plus homes with over 2,000 people residing in Lake Holiday. The Reams family launched a small group for Grace Community Church within the gates of Lake Holiday in the fall of 2011. The Reams family grew that day to include many other wonderful families that had moved to the Lake Holiday Community. That small group family continued to grow.

In 2013 GCC started a multi-site campus, called GCC North, which met in the Lake Holiday community center. In 2016 GCC North became Compass Community Church, a church plant under the MissioChurch within the Brethren Church denomination. Today Compass Community Church consists of 60-80 regular attendees.
